Spreading discreditable, misrepresentative information designed to induce fear and apprehension, that is what we are all being spoon fed on a daily basis and I for one am weary of it!
Al-Qaeda: “stronger than ever” -- or not? If this is true then what the hell have we been doing in Iraq for the last four -plus years and why are we still there? I am unsure if the National Intelligence Estimate signals intent by Bush and Cheney to inflict their long-planned "next 9/11" before relinquishing power in 2008, or if this noise is routine political staging by the other Candidates to use as a platform for the upcoming elections.
Either way, it is fear mongering at best and just out and out lies at worst. Moreover, the sheer absurdity that Al Qaeda might have advanced capabilities to wage a nuclear attack on America is ludicrous!
Bush damns the "axis of evil." But who has the "axis of evil" attacked? Iran has attacked no one. North Korea has attacked no country for more than a half century. Iraq attacked Kuwait a decade and a half ago, apparently after securing permission from the U.S. ambassador. Isn't the real axis of evil Bush-Blair-Olmert? Bush and Blair have attacked two countries, slaughtering their citizens. Olmert is urging them on to attack a third country – Iran.
It is a well-established and deliberately unaddressed historical fact that the CIA created “radical Islam” and Islamic “terrorism” during the Cold War. It is also a documented fact that the US, its allies, and their intelligence agencies (CIA, Pakistan’s ISI, Britain’s MI-6, etc.) have -- from the 1970s to the present day -- continued to use and guide terrorist groups, including “Al-Qaeda,” as intelligence and propaganda assets. “Islamic terrorism” is a manufactured weapon of Western geostrategy, serving Anglo-American interests.
Think about this:
Bush Directive for a "Catastrophic Emergency" in America: Building a Justification for Waging War on Iran?
"Another [9/11 type terrorist] attack could create both a justification and an opportunity that is lacking today to retaliate against some known targets" (Statement by Pentagon official, leaked to the Washington Post, 23 April 2006)
So then is the intent to seek a pretext to wage a preemptive war?
What do you think.

I like this fear mongering post, what I think will occur, first you got Lou Dobbs on every night talking trash about the Democratic congress but us thinkers are not taken in easily, the reason we are still in the 'failed' Iraq war is because the Republicans are keeping us there, we can't over-ride the veto.
Second you are right the only aggressors here are the ones mentioned, Iraq is a big mess and all I see is one big 'snow job' coming down the road, but i don't think America will buy any of it, the generals who told us it was a mess were disposed of simply because they spoke a truth of what actually was going on there, this administration makes me long for the days of Richard Nixon and Jimmy Carter, this one is the worst of my memory.
Mom knew of none worse, but I never lived through the depression.
Third, they have been over there for years and it is still a mess, and now everything falls into place in September? Who are they kidding? This thing has cost thousands of lives and more thousands in injuries and disabilities and right now our grand-kids could not pay this fiasco off, and frankly it would not surprise me if a news flash came on CNN that we attacked Iran.
Having said all this I will say a little more, Ron Reagan would turn over in his grave if he could see what has become of the GOP, basically it is an embarrassment to the free world and the ones running for office are still talking the same nonsense as the current administration, and don't get me wrong I have voted for the GOP before, but to do so now I would consider it a vote against America.

I better stop I have ranted enough tonight,,once again great post and insight.
Hi Floyd,
I am waiting for that 'Newsflash' too. Attacking Iran next on Bush's 'hit list.'
As far as the upcoming election?
"here's the new boss, same as the old boss" No one that is running is fit to be President, in my opinion.
Thanks for the visit and the well thought out comment Floyd.
