U.S. readying Saudi arms deal, official confirms

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Bush administration is preparing a package of arms sales to Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states that could be worth some $20 billion over the next 10 years, a senior U.S. defense official said on Saturday.

One Official said "This isn't an arming of the Middle East,"

"We've been working very hard on the Saudi arms package, which we believe is critical to the overarching architecture that we believe we are going to need ... to deal with the changing strategic threat from Iran and other forces," the official said.

This in spite of the fact that Sunni rebels, funded in part by Saudi “private citizens,” have killed the bulk of American solidiers who have died in Iraq? Seems to me that this is just a step twoard a pre-emptive war with Iran..that's my view of "it"

Last i heard it was at $620 Billion Dollars so this measly $20 Billion Arms Sale will at least Feather Bush + Cheney's Halliburton Nest of Bird-Brained friendz quite nicely*
