Why impeachment of Cheney and Bush is imperative

Bush has so much power-- with the help of Cheney, Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, former Attorney General John Ashcroft and others in his administration -- as the “unitary executive,” “the decider” who doesn’t have to explain anything or answer to anyone, who can overrule Congress with signing statements, who can rule with executive orders,
who can preemptively strike any nation he pleases to wage wars of aggression, who can declare people “enemy combatants” and have them tortured and locked away for life without benefit of counsel or trial, it is as plain as day
and why they don’t want the House of Representatives to undertake impeachment proceedings against Cheney and Bush.
Just think about this for a minute:
That is called absolute power. Remember what Lord Acton said: “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.”
What happens when they set off the next 9-11 and Bush has his “catatrophic emergency” excuse to invoke his National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive, which makes him dictator? There will be no “steenking” election -- honest or rigged. Baby Doc Bush can then declare himself “president for life.”
This goes far in explaining the arrogance Bush and Cheney have shown throught the past eight years. What if this is his plan after all? We should be very afraid!

When the president determines a catastrophic emergency has occurred, the president can take over all government functions and direct all private sector activities to ensure we will emerge from the emergency with an "enduring constitutional government."
Translated into layman's terms, when the president determines a national emergency has occurred, the president can declare to the office of the presidency powers usually assumed by dictators to direct any and all government and business activities until the emergency is declared over.
