Charles Gibson to Anchor an ABC News Special in Primetime, "The 2008 New Hampshire Primary," from 8:30-9:00 p.m., ET
ABC News will provide comprehensive coverage of the New Hampshire primaries on Tuesday, January 8. Charles Gibson will anchor a primetime special "The 2008 New Hampshire Primary" -- from 8:30-9:00 p.m., ET that will be seen live across the country. He will be joined by "This Week" anchor George Stephanopoulos and ABC News' team of correspondents covering the presidential candidates. Mr. Gibson will also anchor special reports throughout the night as primary results become known.
Later in the evening, Terry Moran will anchor a special edition of "Nightline" at 11:35 p.m., ET, with reports from Mr. Gibson, Mr. Stephanopoulos and ABC News correspondents across New Hampshire.
Please note: The primetime special, "The 2008 New Hampshire Primary," will replace "Just for Laughs" in the Eastern and Central Time Zones, and the 8:30 p.m., ET feed of "World News with Charles Gibson" on the West Coast. At 8:30 p.m., PT, an episode of "Just for Laughs" will re-air.
Since Friday, January 4, "World News with Charles Gibson" and "Nightline" have originated from Manchester, with anchors Charles Gibson and Terry Moran reporting from the field. Diane Sawyer anchored "Good Morning America" live with George Stephanopoulos from Manchester on Monday and Tuesday, January 7 and 8.
ABC News senior political editor Rick Klein has provided daily insight into the race from New Hampshire in "The Note." On the night of the New Hampshire primaries, ABCNEWS.com will provide real-time results in a searchable database, updated minute by minute with the latest exit polling information. The ABC News Political Radar blog will be continually updated with dispatches from off-air reporters traveling with the candidates, ABC News correspondents and anchors in the field.
ABC News Radio will provide full coverage of the New Hampshire primaries on Tuesday, January 8 with live reports throughout the day from Manchester. ABC News Correspondents Aaron Katersky and Steven Portnoy will be in Manchester, with ABC News Correspondent Vic Ratner reporting from the ABC News Decision Desk in New York. In addition to its regularly scheduled news programming, ABC News Radio will provide status reports four times an hour on the night of January 8 and into the morning of January 9. Additionally, ABC News Radio will continue running its weekday campaign update ROAD TO THE WHITE HOUSE through Inauguration Day, 2009.
On ABC News NOW, the network's 24/7 digital channel, Sam Donaldson will host wall-to-wall, on-the-ground coverage of the primaries. ABC News NOW will incorporate "Talk Back" videos throughout the evening and will have live web and digital camera access in New Hampshire, as young Democrats and Republicans follow the primary. "Vote 2008: The Issues" will air a special post-debate show from New Hampshire hosted by David Chalian on Monday, January 7. Additionally, ABC News NOW will be live at candidates' campaign headquarters.
ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliate news service, will provide around-the-clock coverage of the primaries, with correspondents T.J. Winick and Yunji De Nies reporting from New Hampshire. Veteran political reporters Sam Donaldson and Cokie Roberts will provide analysis, and additional reporting from Rick Klein's "The Note" will also be featured.
