Study: False statements preceded war
The study counted 935 false statements in the two-year period. It found that in speeches, briefings, interviews and other venues, Bush and administration officials stated unequivocally on at least 532 occasions that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction or was trying to produce or obtain them or had links to al-Qaida or both.
Named in the study along with Bush were top officials of the administration during the period studied: Vice President Dick Cheney, national security adviser Condoleezza Rice, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, Secretary of State Colin Powell, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz and White House press secretaries Ari Fleischer and Scott McClellan.
Bush led with 259 false statements, 231 about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 28 about Iraq's links to al-Qaida, the study found. That was second only to Powell's 244 false statements about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and 10 about Iraq and al-Qaida.

Center For Public Integrity
Interesting to note that none of the people named are still with the Bush Administration.
We've all known this for some time but to actually see it in print and see the scope of the lies is unsettling, at best. This ought to cause everyone of us to call for Impeachment of both Bush and Cheney and the resignation of Condoleeza Rice as well as that of Nancy Pelosi.
The Democrats are up to their ass in this mess as well, rest assured about that.

Hi Ted,
You're right she is still part of the Administration - my bad :)
One statement made in "The Art of War" by sun tzu is that "all war is based on deception"
As sad and disappointing it all is, I suppose we shouldn't be surprised.
Hi Geologyjoe,
You make a good point but in my view of it this is outrageous. We are not in this War for anything more then greed and revenge. Makes me sick!
Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to commment,
Peace.

I read this somewhere earlier this week and it just amazes me. What is even worse than the lying by the Bush administration is the utter failure of the media to notice. The press is supposed to be the "watchdog" over the government...what the hell happened?
I think the Media is owned by the Government these days jyackley01. I just visited your site and what a wonderful Site it is. I admire what you are doing for animals and I am going to Post your Good Search info on my other Blog.
Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to comment.
