FBI wants palm prints, eye scans, tattoo mapping

The FBI is gearing up to create a massive computer database of people's physical characteristics, all part of an effort the bureau says to better identify criminals and terrorists.
This is 'Big Brother' taking things a bit to far. Really it is the beginning a society where you can be tracked anywhere, any time and all your movements, and eventually all your activities will be tracked and noted.
This is the direct result of the fear-mongers who want us to walk in fear suspecting everyone around us to be of sinister intent.
In my view of "it" this raises some serious privacy issues. It makes the Government privvy to all our personal information even if we are innocent of any wrongdoing.
How very Orwellian.

Well I guess it truly is just a mater of time.

I swear I am truly starting to believe that the only way to change things is to have a full blown out revolution once again.

What a sad thought!!

Why can't America wake-up and see what's really going on?

And of course its supporters will argue by stating: "if you didn't have anything to hide, then it wouldn't matter."

youre freaking out about nothing. To have an extensive database like that and be able to actually use it effectively are way WAY out of the capabilities of the FBI. This 1 billion dollar venture is truly a waste of tax dollars. The computing power needed to do such a thing is immense and not yet available except for in the labs of the NSA's quantum computing.

I think its time to rename Orwells 1984 to 2000 and Der Fuhrer Bush's Reign.

God Bless.

This Kind of thing is also about to be implemented in the UK. Anyone that thinks this kind of data is safe in the hands these jerks is living in fantasy land. USA the land of the free / UK the home of democracy? Both countries are becoming backdoor police states!

This freaked me out...because I suspect this is already going on at some level.

The comments by Romney in his 'resignation' today about quitting to make sure a 'terrorist loving' [okay my words, not his but you get the gist] Democrat isn't elected....

It's really a tough one. I understand the privacy issues very well but if we had another 9/11 tomorrow morning, I am not so sure I would mind the inconvenience.

To all of you who commented on this Post I apologise, I have been sick as a dog the past few days and was unable to be awake much :(
I think for any of us to mimimize the importance of the information posted is a mistake. Make no mistake the Government is monitoring our every move.

I hear your point but if it doesn't happen now its only a matter of time and if its not the Government it'll be private sector buts once its there it's as good as the Gov's anyway. I think this is an inevitable consequence of technology.

Perhaps so Ryan but this is still an invasion of privacy regardless of the progress technology has made and what about hackers?
