Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies

McCain is in great shape right now because of the Democratic infighting and his reputation as the Democrats' favorite Republican, that will buy us another 100 years in the Middle East six months at a time....

On the other hand, we have a lot of conservatives who I think are probably not ready to vote for an African-American candidate .

Think about what this could/would mean for a Hillary/Obama ticket or a Obama/Hillary ticket.

In my view of it - I think Hillary would accept the nomination of VP because this would just about guarantee her a win in 2012, she would probably get a two term Presidency out of this.

After that, Chelsea would be old enough to run standing on her lifetime experience as the daughter of the President, giving us at least another 20 years of Clintons.
Pack up the babies and grab the old ladies ev'ryone goes, 'cause everyone knows what that would be like.

I think Obama would be insulted to take the VP nomination behind Hillary because no one, certainly not the first African-American, is going to accept riding in the back of the bus when he thinks he has been chosen to be the driver.

How say you?

I think there are some liberals, Democrats, who would note vote for a black candidate, thus they vote for Hillary. Then again, there are some that probably think we are not ready for either candidate, thus they voted for Edwards... tough luck for them.

Anyway it goes in the Democratic race, all McCain has to do (theoretically)) to win is get Condoleezza Rice as a VP, that way we knock out the black and female part of the Democrats. Plus she will tell you when your wrong, a strong debater, and a very educated woman. Plus, she likes sports, and knows a lot about football. Every man can get along with that.

Yeesh, I never thought about Chelsea's claim to the White House! She knows it better than Bill or Hillary!
With all this talk about why Barrack can't seal the seal and put Hillary away, the question needs to be reversed and ask Hillary why she can't beat Barrack. If she has so much political experience, and claims that she is the only one who can beat McCain, then why exactly is Obama beating her in every category of the DNC race? The way she's talking, she can crush Obama like a bug, but in all reality she can't get close enough to him.
About your point of a Hillary/Barrack ticket, if that happens for some freak reason, I'm voting independent, forever!

I would nver vote for Hillary, Obama is interesting...they are all so much the same!!

I want an official protest vote on the ballot..I'd vote for that..let the country know how many people think what the media has offered up as candidates..Sucks

Hi Carol,

None of the Democratic rivals can get 2,025 delegates to secure the nomination before the convention. Obama will stay in the lead, both in number of delegates and popular votes. It would be "undemocratic" if the super delegates award the nomination to Hillary, and unfair to Obama. This could divide the party's base of supporters.

As the polls show, an Obama vs. McCain or a McCain vs. Clinton election would be a close fight. This is only true for the time being. When the final candidates are named by both parties and assuming the Democrats are able to heal their divisive primary campaigns, the polls will be drastically changed. It will be a lopsided election in favor of the one who has more to offer. :-) --Durano, done!

Hey Bradley,
That's a thought that I can't bear to think about - McCain and Rice I think we would be at war until the end of time with that ticket.
Good point about the football though :)

LOL@Vice -
How do you like me now planting that seed about Chelsea. Hope it doesn't keep you awake nights! As for Hillary I don't think she can squash Obama at all or she would have already she would rather burn down the House then quit.

Hi Durano,
All valid points you've made and right on the money. That's why I think it's going to be an Obama/Clinton ticket.
As you say we will know for sure come November.

Tom,
That's an interesting thought - a protest vote.
I wouldn't vote for Billary and although Obama is interesting there's something about him that reminds me of a car salesman....
