Bye Bye to the Texas Mafia

Seven years ago, a group of Texans with strong reputations went to Washington to take their place in President Bush's new administration.

Several come home bearing the scars of the experience.

Al Gonzales, Karl Rove, Harriet Miers, Joe Allbaugh and Scott McClellan were among the shining stars of the Bush White House. In varying degrees, they have become All the President's Casualties.

"They're leaving bruised, battered and to one degree or another, publicly embarrassed,"

Perhaps if President Bush valued copmpetence rather than loyalty his Administration wouldn't be in so much trouble.

Say goodbye to the original 'Texas Mafia' and smile.
