Imus in the mourning?

Apparently Don Imus is in big trouble. He called the Rutgers University womens's basketball team “nappy-headed ho’s.” Shame on him.
Mr. Imus tried to stave off calls for his resignation by appearing yesterday on a syndicated radio program that has the Rev. Al Sharpton as its host and making a more complete apology for what he said were “repugnant, repulsive, and horrible” comments.
He said he was also trying to reach out to the team, its coach and players’ parents to issue an apology.
Seems like Imus is now trying to kiss enough ass so he doesn't get fired although he is suspended for two weeks.
Seems to me that this one statement, however racist it is, has gotten more press than anything else has lately.
It is worse to make a racist slur than it is to allow some 3500 soldiers to be killed in a war that we have no business being in!
Give me a break, if we are going to be outraged, let's be outraged about things that really matter and let's not waste our energy worrying about some stupid remark made off the cuff by some radio talk show host! Get a grip people!

I read it, to tell you the truth the author makes some good points. I have heard black people call each other much worse things that what Imus has.

I couldn't agree with you more Carol. I stopped listening to Imus years ago, because whenever he opened his pie hole all sorts of hilarious, scary, confusing and/or damaging things fly out. Much Like President Bush when he talks about the war in Iraq.
