It's Official - I am a Thinking Blogger!

My friend Don from Life Cycle Analysis has tagged me as a "Thinking Blogger." I am quite honored and grateful to him for this as he is rather a great thinker himself - a College Science Teacher in fact, so I am even more gratified that he thought of me for this "tag."

Apparently this all started with Ilker from the Thinking Blog and the Tag Reads:
'5 Blogs That Make Me Think'

I am tagging the following bloggers:

1) Fat Cat from: Fat Cat Politics and Anti War Politics as well as several other Political Blogs. This Blogger thinks and cares deeply about the War and is a strong advocate for ending the War as evidenced by such bold statements as these: "Ending The War
I strongly agree with Senate Democrats' efforts to start bringing our troops home, narrow the mission of those that remain and pursue a political settlement in Iraq.
We should withdraw our combat troops by early 2008, except for a limited number necessary to keep training Iraqis and to deny terrorists a sanctuary.
And we should do that in the context of a comprehensive political, diplomatic and economic strategy that gives us a chance to leave Iraq without leaving chaos behind."

2) Floyd: from: Within Reason another "Thinking" Blogger who is unafraid to write Posts like this and has earned my respect for being so forthright in his views. Immigration Legislation? Nothing but B.S

He writes about whatever is on his mind and is unafraid to say what he means and mean what he says. This is an example of one Post you will find on his Site: Life support - who should have the final say?
Life is more than just having a pulse and breathing. Life is "living". Being able to do the things you want to do. Achieving things and setting goals. Having relationships and friendships. Being able to communicate with others. If I wasn't able to do those things, I don't think I would want to go on living.

4) Phil from: Thought Sparks - Igniting Ideas for the Common Good He writes a lot about techie stuff but in there among all that is a real "thinking" Blogger and you will find evidence of that in the most unlikely places on his Site. A Rose by Any Other Name : I like Monday mornings. It may be strange to you, but I enjoy the start of new weeks, the challenges and opportunities. I enjoy starting new things, I enjoy the beginning of each new season and all that it brings.

5) Lisa from: Two KnivesIncisive. I am nominating her for this award because she is just so funny and authentic. Here is just one example of her wonderful and humorous style: On the scene at the Republican Convention, or, don’t read this one, Anne
April 27, 2007
Psyched! for the 2008 Republican National Convention to be held right across the river from me in St. Paul.
I can’t promise anything — it’s still over a year away — but I see some good potential for “live blogging.”
Since the press pass is doubtful, I’ve got some other ideas for “Two Knives Blogging Live from RNC 2008:”
The participation rules are simple:

1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote
(here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn't fit your blog). That was that! Please, remember to tag blogs with real merits, i.e. relative content, and above all - blogs that really get you thinking.

Wonderful choices, Carol. It looks like I picked a winner here.

Oh Don, I am so glad you liked my choices, it really was hard to come up with who to choose for this. You made me think!

Carol, much thanks for choosing me as a thinking blog. I love what you shared about me thinking among all that "techie stuff" is thinking. Yeah, I think my diversions from the tech world are many of my most appreciated posts. Interesting and thanks for that observation.

I was chosen before and did a post. Wondering if I should do another one or maybe a post referencing the first one?

Hi Phil,
I am pleased that you have accepted the "Thinking Blogger" Award. I would be comfortable with you referencing an earlier Post if that's what you would choose to do.
Thanks for stopping by and for your comment.

Congratulations on your thinkeing bloggers award. I have often seen your avatar at FuelMyBlog and have never visited. However, I do believe that Don has made an excellent choice. And, after reading your post I will indeed make my fonts larger. As I too really do get irritated with the same thing due to my glasses. Alas, at least with this blog that I currently have it is in dedication to my son-in-law and he has requested all of the video bars and such...and, the widgets are killing my load time. As I used to design websites for a living I know this is the biggest NO-NO...but, since he is the 1 facing Iraq....I am trying to honor his request. You have a wonderful blog and most certainly deserving of this honor!

Oh BTW...I am familiar with some of your choices and I think yet again you have more than proved yourself worthy of this honor. I just participated in Phil's Eight Random Facts last night. As was said to me when I recieved my award. Long may you continue to blog. -Jackie

Hi Jackie,
I am so pleased that you stopped by and totally respect your reasons for your choices in your Blog design. I probably should have considered that some people have other reasons for setting their Blogs up the way they do but I was truly irritated by some of my experiences in that area yesterday. I also am pleased that you liked my choices for the "Thinking Blogger" tag. I also was just tagged with the Eight Random Facts tag and need to be thinking about what I am going to say about that. Very nice to meet you and thanks for taking the time to comment here.
