Pope laments U.S. 'injustices'

You know the hypocrisy in this world never ceases to amaze me, The Pope says, and I quote, "Americans have always been a people of hope." "Your ancestors came to this country with the experience of finding new freedom and opportunity.

"To be sure, this promise was not experienced by all the inhabitants of this land; one thinks of the injustices endured by the native American peoples and by those brought here forcibly from Africa as slaves."

If he is so damned troubled by these injustices how must he feel about the abominations committed by the Romans, or by the Catholic Church itself for that matter? You know what they say about people living in glass houses.

I am more furious about what is being done to people all over the world - right now - this day than I am about what was done a decade or more ago.

A call for healing
He turned for a third day to the clergy sex abuse scandal that rocked the American church, saying "no words of mine could describe the pain and harm inflicted by such abuse."

To the above I can only say "bullshit".

Bill Maher vs. the Pope

The “Real Time” host uses the recent raid on a polygamist compound to point a finger at the Vatican, which he calls “the Bear Sterns of organized pedophilia—too big to fail.” This wasn’t one of Maher’s more applauded closing numbers, but it’s not one you should miss.
