BUSH & BIN LADEN - Kindred Spirits

BUSH & BIN LADEN
Kindred Spirits
I am at war against the enemy
All who oppose me are evil
I will have others fight and die in my war
It matters not that many civilians will die as a result of my war
My actions are directed by God

Well Bush has responded to the Bin Laden tape with his usual bluster and rhetoric.
"I found it interesting that on the tape, Iraq was mentioned, which is a reminder that Iraq is a part of this war against extremists," Bush said. "If al-Qaida bothers to mention Iraq, it's because they want to achieve their objectives in Iraq, which is to drive us out and to develop a safe haven. And the reason they want a safe haven is to launch attacks against America or any other ally."
In my view of it, Bush is an extremist who is not thinking about the good of our Country, rather he is thinking about how his legacy will read and how he will be remembered by history. This is a war that is being fought under false pretenses, led by a President who is unable to admit his mistakes.
Bin Laden on the other hand appears to have a clearer picture.
He criticizes Democrats for failing to stop the Iraq conflict that the "vast majority" of Americans want stopped.
“You elected the Democratic Party for this purpose," he says, according to a translated transcript of the tape. “On the contrary, they continue to agree to spending of tens of billions to continue the killings and the war there.”

Right on Cue

Al-Qaida leader to address U.S. in first video in nearly 3 years, group says
Osama bin Laden will release a video ahead of the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks in what would provide the first new images of the terror mastermind in nearly three years, al-Qaida’s media arm announced Thursday.
Analysts noted that al-Qaida tends to mark the Sept. 11 anniversary with a slew of messages, and the Department of Homeland Security said it had no credible information warning of an imminent threat to the United States.
Still, bin Laden’s appearance would be significant. The al-Qaida leader has not appeared in new video footage since October 2004, and he has not put out a new audiotape in more than a year, his longest period without a message.
Interesting that whenever it's time for things to heat up, they trot out Bin Laden.
They found Saddam Hussein six feet under, hiding in a hole in the ground, but Bin Laden looks like he has gained some weight and even found some hair dye to darken his beard.
Not to shabby considering he has been hiding from the United States and all it's Armed Forces since 2001.

Myths of the War on Terrorism

Does the truth lie in Michael Chertoff's gut?
By: Steve Chapman

Interesting and valid points in the above linked article. I was just thnking today as I was listening to the News that it seems like every time the Bush Administration gets its ass in a sling a new tape comes out from Al-Qaeda, I cannot help but wonder at the coincidence.

Apparently the reward for Osama Bin Laden is now fifty million dollars and passed with an 87-1 vote, I wonder who the holdout was? Why can we not find this man? Perhaps he is hiding at the CIA?

Maybe I am just being cynical but it feels a little bit to me like the boy who cried wolf one to many times.

Interview With Osama Bin Laden

I came across this article on another site and found it so interesting I thought I would share it with you here. It's an interesting look into how this man's mind works and how he rationalizes what he does.

Interview with Osama Bin Laden

In the first part of this interview which occurred in May 1998, a little over two months before the U.S. embassy bombings in Kenya and Tanzania, Osama bin Laden answers questions posed to him by some of his followers at his mountaintop camp in southern Afghanistan. In the latter part of the interview, ABC reporter John Miller is asking the questions.

Who Are The Real Myth Makers?

By Robert Parry
March 13, 2007
Bush/Cheney & a Love of 'Petards' Neoconservatives love one rhetorical device above all others, flipping an opponent's words back in his face, a process called "hoisting him on his own petard." Recently, George W. Bush and Dick Cheney have engaged in this practice themselves in countering Iraq War opponents. Bush mocked his "realist" critics for lacking "realism." Cheney, who has spread every Iraq War myth known to man, is now accusing critics of embracing "myths" about the Iraq War. Clever words, however, cannot fix a disastrous military policy.
In My View of It, Bush and Cheney are the real "myth makers. This "War on "Terror" has never been addressed, instead it became a war on Sadam Hussein. Simply a need to settle the score for Bush Sr. and to gain control of Oil Rights in Iraq, What ever happened to this "War on Terror?" Instead of focusing on finding and holding those accountable for 911, we have left the Talliban alone long enough for them to regroup and gain strength in Afghanistan. Tell me, what has been accomplished? Al Quaeda is an even bigger threat then before the war. We are no better off now then before we started this whole nightmare. Plus, al-Qaeda has been rebuilding its command-and-control structure.“American officials said there was mounting evidence that Osama bin Laden and his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, had been steadily building an operations hub in the mountainous Pakistani tribal area of North Waziristan,” the New York Times reported on Feb. 19. Again, who are the real Myth Makers?

Al Qaeda Chiefs Are Seen to Regain Power

Pakistani soldiers monitored the border with Afghanistan in the North Waziristan tribal area. Al Qaeda and the Taliban have strengthened their presence there recently.
By MARK MAZZETTI and DAVID ROHDE
Published: February 19, 2007
WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 — Senior leaders of Al Qaeda operating from Pakistan have re-established significant control over their once-battered worldwide terror network and over the past year have set up a band of training camps in the tribal regions near the Afghan border, according to American intelligence and counterterrorism officials.
A Pakistani Army helicopter over a military outpost near the Afghan border in the North Waziristan region.
American officials said there was mounting evidence that Osama bin Laden and his deputy, Ayman al-Zawahri, had been steadily building an operations hub in the mountainous Pakistani tribal area of North Waziristan. Until recently, the Bush administration had described Mr. bin Laden and Mr. Zawahri as detached from their followers and cut off from operational control of Al Qaeda.
The United States has also identified several new Qaeda compounds in North Waziristan, including one that officials said might be training operatives for strikes against targets beyond Afghanistan.
Another convenient coincidence? More of the propaganda machine in action? I can't help but wonder that we have heard so little about AlQaeda in the past few years but as we near closer to war with Iran, volia up pops AlQaeda! And now the invocation of that most hated terrorist Osama bin Laden, bravo to the Bush's publicists for this one! Fogive me if I sound cynical, but that's My View of It!

Osama Bin Laden Dead and Buried in 2001

Osama Bin Laden Dead and Buried

in 2001

by AL-NAFD

Islamabad

- A prominent official in the Afghan Taleban movement announced yesterday the death of Osama bin Laden, the chief of al-Qa'da organization, stating that binLaden suffered serious complications in the lungs and died a natural and quiet death. The official, who asked to remain anonymous, stated to The Observer of Pakistan that he had himself attended the funeral of bin Laden and saw his face prior to burial in Tora Bora 10 days ago. He mentioned that 30 of al-Qa'da fighters attended the burial as well as members of his family and some friends from the Taleban. In the farewell ceremony to his final rest guns were fired in the air. The official stated that it is difficult to pinpoint the burial location of bin Laden because according to the Wahhabi tradition no mark is left by the grave. He stressed that it is unlikely that the American forces would ever uncover any traces of bin Laden. Translation of Funeral Article in Egyptian Paper:al-Wafd, Wednesday, December 26, 2001 Vol 15 No 4633 News of Bin Laden's Deathand Funeral 10 days ago ORIGINALLY PUBLISHEDhttp://www.welfarestate.com/binladen/funeral/
In Crossing the Rubicon, Mike Ruppert writes:
"I believe that bin Laden was, and remains, a CIA/US government/Wall Street asset. This would explain why he has never been caught. There are still wars to fight. He can't be caught for a variety of reasons, including his family's enormous and diverse financial connections to the same elites that control the United States financial system, and his close interrelationship with a Saudi ruling class that could pull the plug on the US economy even before Peak Oil does. Osama bin Laden also knows way too much, and without him, the Bush administration would have had no excuse for any of what it has done over the last four years. From a strategic point of view, Osama is Dick Cheney's best friend."
Don't shoot the messenger - wouldn't this just be the shits? This would explain why with ALL of our resources, we can not find this guy!! (Yikes! hope my computer doesn't blow up after this little ditty!)
