I must be a Mushroom!

Libby Sentenced to 30 Months in Prison, Fined $250K

This is such a crock of shit. This guy is just a scapegoat for Bush and Cheney or perhaps more directly, Karl Rove.
The judge in this case has not decided whether or not to allow Libby to remain free while Appeals are pending.
The thing that really pissed me off about this article is the statement by Special Counsel Patrick J. Fitzgerald, "one's station in life does not matter," as he argued that Libby does not deserve special consideration because of the pubic service he has rendered or the high government positions he attained.

While I agree fundamentally that one's "station in life" shouldn't matter when it comes to justice, we all know that it does and I think that Fitzgerald is just full of shit for saying otherwise.

Besides, by the time this all goes down it will be just in time for Bush to pardon him just before leaving office.

I must be a mushroom cause they try to keep me in the dark and feed me bullshit!

Update: Libby Given 30 Months for Lying in C.I.A. Leak Case

Judge Walton refused a request by defense lawyers to delay the sentence until Mr. Libby’s appeals are exhausted. Unless the judge reverses his position, as Mr. Libby’s lawyers will press for in arguments next week, or unless Mr. Bush grants a pardon, the Bureau of Prisons is expected to order Mr. Libby to report to a federal prison in the next 45 to 60 days.
Mr. Bush, who learned of the sentence while traveling in Europe, expressed sympathy for Mr. Libby and his family through a spokeswoman, Dana Perino, who was accompanying the president on Air Force One from the Czech Republic to Germany. But as to the possibility of a pardon, Ms. Perino said only, “The president has not intervened so far in this or any other criminal matter, so he’s going to decline to do so now as well.”

I think you echo the sentiments of all of haven't given up or quit thinking. For those of us who were around, this was worse than Watergate and yet, all the principals are left standing. Somedays I can only shake my head. Keep up the good fight.

Yep! It just gets crazier and crazier - who knows where it's going to end?
