Health Tip: Trim Your Tree With Care
(HealthDay News) -- While decorating for the holiday season, keep in mind that a live tree, electric lights, and some ornaments can pose safety hazards.
Here are suggestions from the National Safety Council on how to enjoy a safe holiday:
Reduce the risk of fire by checking all light strands for broken bulbs or exposed wires.
Never plug more than three sets of lights into one extension cord, and never leave Christmas lights turned on when you're asleep or away from the home.
Don't place lighted candles near trees or other holiday decorations.
Keep breakable ornaments high up on the tree, out of reach of curious children and pets.

(Arizona Dust Storm)
The fungus that causes Valley Fever is regulated by the federal government in the Anti terrorism and Effective Death Penalty Act of 1996. In accordance with this law, anyone possessing, using, transferring, or receiving any of the select agents (including C. immitis) must notify the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, or is otherwise committing a federal crime. To culture C. immitis in a laboratory setting, one must adhere to Biosafety Level 3 Regulations. However, you are allowed to live in, work in, and visit areas where it grows. You can even expose your children to this biohazard without penalty.
I happen to live in Arizona and have had this terrible cough since moving here six years ago. Over this period of time the cough has gotten much worse, to the point of actually waking me from a sound sleep. A friend of mine gave me the link for this information about Valley Fever...I am calling my Doctor in the morning after having read this...I hope you all will take the time to read it also.
