How About Some Netiquette Please

I have spent most of the day surfing the web, or Blog-hopping, if you will. I am so annoyed!
Is it so difficult for people to communicate?
What the hell am I talking about you may be wondering.
Of course it's not difficult to communicate, we are Bloggers. I say bullshit!
We behave online in the rudest of ways.

Example:
You come to a Site, you click on a link, and nothing happens. What do you do? Do you just leave and flit on to the next Site or do you contact the Author to let him/her know about the broken link? I would bet that 9 out of 10 just flit on to the next site.
What would you do in real life if say, someone's slip is showing or their fly was unzipped? You would most likely tell that person. Right?

I came upon a fairly reputable and high volume Site and clicked on a link and it took me straight to a Porno Site! Now the Site I am talking about sells Newsletters and is very professional. I can only assume that no one had told them that this was an issue.
I emailed the Author/Owner through their Contact form and she was just as surprised as I was.
Can you imagine how many people have clicked that same exact link and didn't have the courtesy or the gumption to shoot off an email.
What is wrong with people today? Are we really that self-centered? I find it unbelievable that there are something like 4 million Blogs, so I would naturally assume that 4 million people Author a Blog....Hmmmm is it me?

The next time you come upon a Site and something is broken why not use the Contact link that most have so prominently displayed and contact the Author?
Wouldn't you want to know if something was broken on your Blog? I think so.
This is simple "NETIQUETTE" and if you don't know what that is, here's a link (that works) go check it out. If you aren't to damned lazy to click that is!

Here's an excerpt (in case you are too lazy):

In real life, most people are fairly law-abiding, either by disposition or because we're afraid of getting caught. In cyberspace, the chances of getting caught sometimes seem slim. And, perhaps because people sometimes forget that there's a human being on the other side of the computer, some people think that a lower standard of ethics or personal behavior is acceptable in cyberspace.
The confusion may be understandable, but these people are mistaken. Standards of behavior may be different in some areas of cyberspace, but they are not lower than in real life.

This Blog Sucks or I am Pathetic

I have spent some time thinking about my life and where it's going. I have decided that I am screwed. Apparently I am losing it (there's a surprise)!
This is what I found in a google search today.

Soon You Will Understand...The Meaning of Life

I am so pathetic.
Who searches Google to answer that question? Someone who is screwed, that's who.
I am thinking that my Blog sucks and has no puropose other than to continually whine about asshole Bush.
I am even sick of hearing about it myself, so I am off to have a pity party and think about what I am passionate about.
Or maybe I should go see Dr. Sanity ( Shining a psychological spotlight on a few of the insanities of life) to understand The Psychology of Bush Hatred' - an acute onset of paranoia in otherwise normal people in reaction to the policies, the presidency -- nay -- the very existence of George W. Bush - (sigh)

Better yet, I'll have a beer :)

Assuming I am Typical

I spent alot of my time today on the Net. Visiting other people's Blogs to be honest, and let me tell you that it was totally aggravating to me.
I will share with you my thoughts as I was reading and trying to Post comments, notice the word "trying".
First I am thinking why the hell do they make the fonts so small. I wear glasses and even those didn't help on some of the Sites I visited and left without reading more than five words.
Then I am thinking, if the Comment needs the Blog Owner's approval before being posted, then why the hell do they use that word verification thingy on top of it? Frankly, that just takes too long and is way to irritating to me so I left some Sites without commenting, Yep, I am guilty of that instant gratification thing - anything over 3 seconds and you've lost me!
Another thing I noticed is that I really didn't bother much with anything that wasn't right there in the first two Posts. If you didn't catch my interest by then, I was gone.
(Reminder to self!)
The last thing that irritated me was some of the really long load times. I have DSL so this should almost never happen, but it did. My View of "It" Load Time is: 0.48 seconds -
If a page doesn't load in 8 seconds you lose 1/3 of your visitors according to Optimal Website Design by Elizabeth McGee
(another note to self)
I was irritated and stopped and decided to write this little Post instead. Do with it what you will.

Apparently My View of It has been hacked! Here's the message I got.

1923turk 08 Apr 07
Hacked MUSTOCILIN 1923TURK GRUP EFELER GRUP KOMUTANLIGIYouR System A HACKEDRECOLAX & SNIPER_JOH & HACKTHESYSTEM & JÖNTÜRK MEVZ-U BAHISI VATAN ISE GERISI TEFARRUATTIR!.

Does anyone have a clue about this? It was done on April 8th so it isn't an April Fool's Joke. Is this something serious? Should I be concerned?

Need to Know:
A quick Google search turned up 69,000 results for 1923TURK, almost all of them defaced websites. (Thanks Ian) Also, don't click any of the links to their Sites as I am told they may contain viruses.
